This system is designed to meet the Australian Standard for fume cupboards. In the event of a accident the system will isolate power and flammable gases. Alarms will also activate in the event of low air flow.

As part of the Australian standard water and gas valves must be controlled from outside the fume cupboard. Science 2 Medical uses Broen tapware which is manufactured to meet all relevant codes. Fume cupboards are also supplied with gas solenoid valves installed on flammable gases and are interconnection with the electrical control system.
